„As an artist, from the beginning I was interested in abstracting and universalising the personal stories of the individual; and in incorporating the personal experiences of the partners in the collaborative production. In the layers of our personality, like the skin of an onion, there are parts that are more likeable and parts that are harder to accept, but it is the combination of these that makes up our being. The aim is to reconcile these disparate parts, to embrace vulnerability, to accept frailty and to explore how to transcend it. Irony is important to me, and more importantly, humour: taking ourselves only as seriously as is absolutely necessary.”
