The project is inspired by the body's relationship to light and darkness. We are investigating how the presence of darkness affects human behaviour. Not being able to see and fully see the physical environment and other bodies changes our perspective and awakens our focus in a different way. At the other end of the spectrum, light rays penetrate tissues, especially skin and fascia, penetrating deep into their structures. As with sunlight in water, UV, visible and infrared light can be partially reflected from the outer surface of the skin and eyes, and scattered in different directions (including backwards) as they enter tissues by microscopic particles and structures such as fibres. The visible light spectrum is strongly absorbed by pigments and blood. These kinetic properties that make up the reaction of light to skin - absorption, reflection, transmission and scattering - become the inspiration for the creation of dance structures.
Modern science confirms that our bodies not only absorb light, but also produce it in quantities that the human eye cannot detect - we literally glow. The interplay between darkness and light directs the audience's attention and organises the dramaturgy of the performance.
Az IKF (Ifjú Koreográfusok Fóruma) egy tehetséggondozó- és kutatóprogram, melynek elsődleges célja a koreográfusi utánpótlás lehetőségeinek javítása, a fiatal koreográfusok helyzetbehozása. A közelmúlt tapasztalatai azt mutatják, hogy az első darabjukra pályázó alkotók a korábbinál is kevesebb támogatást kapnak, ha kapnak egyáltalán. A Közép-Európa Táncszínház új stratégia kidolgozására vállalkozott, hogy folytathassa a legfiatalabb alkotókkal való együttműködést. Az IKF nyílt pályázatán fiatal magyar és most már nemzetközi koreográfusok kapnak lehetőséget az alkotásra.
