Tempo - New choreography by Rita Góbi with Central Europe Dance Theatre

On the evening of March 6, the National Dance Theatre will premiere the new Tempo, a new production by our company, choreographed by Rita Góbi.

Pick up the pace! Exhale-inhale, one foot after the other. Faster. Faster still. Pump up and go! Who's setting the pace for you? Is the pace of the outside world faster or slower than your inner pulse?”

Our performance Tempo makes the audience think and self-reflect about their own habits. Electronic music creates a futuristic world that seems both distant and deeply human. The intense and repetitive lighting technique helps to create a cyclical and „narrative” dramaturgy of the dance pieces, while contributing to the visual art of Góbi's performance. Tempo's world of the absurd and subtle humour help to make abstraction a tangible and intimate experience for the viewer.

Rita Góbi is a Hungarian and international award-winning dance artist, choreographer, dance teacher, who researches the specific part of the dance language. Her work is characterized by bold experimentation and precise choreography. Her style is defined by geometry, minimalism, monotony and repetition, and a desire for reduction.

Following the premiere of the performance on 6 March, we will be holding an audience meeting in the lobby of the National Dance Theatre, to which we welcome our audience.
