WIEDERKEHR, or Return, is the title of a performance by the German-based Totalitarian Body Kollektiv at the S\u0150T7<\/a>-en. Choreographer Anton Rudakov and lighting technician Insa Griesing shared their thoughts on the collective experience, the impact of the world political stage and the memories that are built into the piece.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A S\u0150T7<\/a> an international dance festival where performances can not only showcase but also inspire. What do you bring to others, what are you different?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We combine dance with performance elements and live music. It is important to us to give each artist in the team the space to try something new. In this way, dancers, singers and musicians become performers, facing new challenges and exploring their limits together. In WIEDERKEHR, we use biographical and collective memories to explore mechanisms and strategies of re-experience. Amid sounds, movements and objects, a dance performance is created that opens up ambivalent associative spaces. In these spaces, artists and spectators are confronted with moments of failure, fragile and in which masculinity can suddenly emerge. We bring you a thrilling evening that will make some people melancholy and others terrified. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you expect most from S\u0150T7<\/a> in the festival?\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are looking forward to exchanging ideas with other artists and to new and exciting perspectives, topics and themes. This is a huge opportunity for us to develop. We are also very excited about Hungarian audiences and the emotions and associations that WIEDERKEHR evokes in them, as audiences are crucial and always the new actors in the performance. We are very happy to be part of the S\u0150T7<\/a>-and to see the magic of Budapest!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WIEDERKEHR is a relatively young performance, in which the memory of the<\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong>play an important role. In the past two<\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong>t <\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong>v and the festival <\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong>lm<\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong>also include<\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong>will sit in the piece<\/strong>?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolutely! The past two years have been a busy time for events around the world, and the world political stage is not leaving us cold. It also changes the audience's perspective, which we notice time and time again in the reactions during the dance performance and in the post-show discussions. But, the last two years have also left their mark on us. We have grown older and some of us have started families. Maciej Beczek is a new dancer in our company who brings new energy and dance technique to the performance.
