15-22 November 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Sissi Autumn Dance Festival, or S\u0150T7, which starts on day zero this year, promises to be a real dance treat in November. The dance festival will present performances from five countries, and will also feature an exhibition of painting and dance photography. On day zero, the EU Dance Hack, a project for innovation and sustainability based on the fusion of art and technology, will be presented in a demonstration, with a Finnish base and a focus on Budapest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2024, S\u0150T7 will showcase the young talents and curiosities of the international dance scene, with Croatian, German, Hungarian, Polish and Slovenian performances. The Bethlen T\u00e9ri Theatre's unique criteria and the brand of Central European Dance Theatre guarantee the quality of the invited productions, which are internationally recognised as the best in contemporary dance. The organisers' modernity, the classical foundations balancing the pulse of urban life and the progressive approach open to technological innovation will satisfy all the needs of the fans, while at the same time giving them the opportunity to discover the national characteristics and unique tastes of the participants. And in a bid to nurture local talent, the folk dance ensemble of the J\u00e1nos Bihari School of Arts will be on show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the festival, two art programmes reflecting the theme of S\u0150T7 will be on display in the lobby of the theatre, G\u00e1bor Dusa's exhibition of photographs entitled: \"Outlook - From Bausch to Vertigo\" and paintings by Rich\u00e1rd T\u00f3th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n EU DANCE HACK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The EU Dance Hack project brings together outstanding artists, designers, music and technology experts and promotes innovation and sustainability. This year, it is the result of a collaboration between Finnish Taikabox, Romanian Developing Art and Central European Dance Theatre, and aims to create a new product, minimising the environmental impact. Their mission is to bring a new world where art and technology are intertwined and the ecological footprint of creation and distribution is reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Milan Tom\u00e1\u0161ik: Treatise (PL)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The dance performance, choreographed by Milan Tom\u00e1\u0161ik, is inspired by Cornelius Cardew's eponymous score, written between 1963 and 1967. The musical graphic score consists of 193 pages of symbols, lines and various geometric and abstract shapes. The performance is a possible interpretation of selected pages of the score through physical, visual and sonic manifestations. Each action is constructed within the score, but its final form and composition goes beyond it: the performers of Krakow Dance Theatre create their own unique universe in space, time and space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A Totalitarian Body collective: WIEDERKEHR (D)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \"Wiederkehr\" creates an associative space in which past and present, reality and imagination are almost indistinguishable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Audiences can expect an incredibly exciting atmosphere and four dancers who will create an unforgettable evening of dance with presence, power and precision\" - reads the statement of the MADE. jury. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Dance Communication Lab is a short-term exchange programme between dancers, the main aim of which is to enable professional dance artists from European partner countries to get to know each other through improvisation, the most characteristic creative process in contemporary dance. The project is mentored by S\u00e1ndor Petrovics, a Hungarian dance artist and dance teacher. DCL focuses on the embodiment of imagination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Forum of Young Choreographers 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n R\u00e9ka Gyevn\u00e1r: Instinct revolt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We will once again organise our Young Choreographers Forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This season we can get to know R\u00e9ka Gyevn\u00e1r from her creative side. R\u00e9ka has been a member of the company of the Central European Dance Theatre for many years, and as a dance artist, she is currently one of the most experienced. We are very happy to have her as a choreographer as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n About S\u0150T7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This November, for the 13th time, we are organising our one-week autumn dance festival, S\u0150T7, at the Bethlen T\u00e9ri Theatre, in cooperation with the Central European Dance Theatre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The week-long dance festival, organised around the name day of the district's namesake, Queen Elisabeth - popularly known as Sissi - focused in the first years on the top performances of the Hungarian contemporary dance scene, and for years on the performances of rural dance companies in Budapest. Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi: All<\/strong>'poor (CRO)
<\/strong>In this work, choreographed for six dancers, Panzetti and Ticconi embark on a journey that begins with the rhythmic potential of the human step and explores the compelling power of synchronised and collective movement. Drawing inspiration from military vocabulary, they delve into the tension between individual action and collective power, questioning the fine line between the need for protection and the possibility of becoming what we fear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
